Teaching with Pride, Learning with Confidence

Our School

Kempshott Junior School is a large Hampshire school near to Basingstoke town centre, that shares its site with Kempshott Infant School. Our school has 12 classrooms, a children’s kitchen, a library, a hygiene room for our disabled children, an outdoor classroom and a large hall. We have an attractive outside environment comprising of a large playground space, an adventure playground, a large field, an all weather sports pitch (MUGA), an orchard and children’s vegetable garden and a partially shaded outdoor classroom.

The school is organised into three year group areas: Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5.  Year 6 has one class within each of these areas. We operate a 'house' points system whereby each class is split equally between Ash, Beech and Oak House.

The children’s work is planned in their year groups and all classes are arranged in age groups. Whilst the classes are mixed ability groups, children do work in ability groups within the class or across the year group, when the teachers consider this the most appropriate format.
