Exercise Activities

For those of you looking to stay active at home, we shall endeavour to update this page regularly with different resources you can try. So that there is something for everyone, we will try and share links to activities that cover a range of different sports.

One place where a wide range of sports can be found is the Join the Movement section of the Sport England website. Here, there are great ideas for both indoor and outdoor activities; they also have fitness challenges and even help you to find free online classes for sports such as: yoga, HIIT and dance! Find all the relevant information on their website so you can, in their words: "Stay in, work out".

Another way you can stay active at home, is through the Hampshire School Games (#HSG) Challenges.

Every week, Hampshire School Games upload a new set of activities to their website. These are quick, easy-to-set-up exercises you can use to stay active at home. Whilst you can just complete these activities for fun, you can also help prove how amazing we are a school by sharing your results with Mr Goulding. Because these events are targeted at children in Hampshire schools, the Hampshire School Games have set up county-wide competitions - where the most active schools stand a chance of becoming Hampshire's Daily Challenge champions!

If you would like to take part, simply visit their website and complete the Daily Challenges set each week, recording your scores for each activity (or just your participation, if you are taking a more relaxed approach). Then, at the end of that week, email this information to Mr Goulding at: sports@kempshott-jun.hants.sch.uk - he will then pass on the necessary data to the Hampshire School Games (starting from Friday 5th February).

On top of these weekly updates, Hampshire School Games also run limited-time competitions. The limited-time competitions being ran currently are:

  •  The #HSG Dance Challenge
  • #HSG Healthy Heart Week Skipping Challenge

If you like the sound of these, more information about each of them can be found in the PDF documents attached to the bottom of this page.

One brand new resource we have just been given access to is the Wonder Woman 1984 activities created by the Youth Sport Trust. The information included in the Family Resources Pack is heavily linked to the catch-up curriculum and has been described as having, "fun, free activities will help your young people develop skills such as courage, strength and teamwork using the power of sport."

If you're interested in unleashing your inner-superhero, click here to visit the Wonder Woman 1984 area on the Youth Sport Trust website.

One other way to stay active is to find a sports star, coach or fitness guru on YouTube who you enjoy listening to. We have listed some of our suggestions below:

(If you have another YouTuber who you particularly like, let us know as we are always looking for more suggestions!)

Finally, whatever you chose to do, or not to do - we hope you have fun.

If you enjoy a particular activity that you really enjoyed, why not take a photo of you completing it and send it in to Mr Goulding at: sports@kempshott-jun.hants.sch.uk Should you give us permission, this photo might even make its way onto our Twitter page (@KempshottSports)!

Stay safe, stay active and we look forward to seeing some pictures soon.

Have fun!
